Overview of Geneva

167806466_57215f49a7Geneva is a city in the south-western side of the state of Switzerland at the shores of Lake Lemain sandwiches between the mountains of Jura and the Alps; it shares a lot with France since they both share a comparatively longer boundary than any of its other neighbors. It is particularly known for its spectacular landscapes of the ski runs, vineyards, ancient towns and spas to name but a few of its features, together with several walkways around the city and its evergreen parks dotting its landscape.

Geneva, Switzerland is both a tourist and business destinations, considering the constant flow of business executives and tourists from all over the world that flock the streets and tourist sites of the city of Geneva the city, it is still difficult to ever hear of the shortage of vital services to visitor and locals. It is made up of both the old city and the city centre. The old city’s beauty and splendor is what made America’s Mark Twain, particularly, like Geneva that even his compatriots had started fearing he might take residences in this city. The old city angular streets exceptionally make for good scenery, it has also maintained its position as the meeting place since the times of the roman empire, with today meetings being in the dozen cafes like the La Clemence and the 18th century joint adorning the streets, still in plenty are the book and antique shops. Another notable feature is the Cathedrale St Pierre which for year Calvin held his sermon many years ago.

Then there is the city centre which is what many refer to as the Geneva. It shares the shores of Lake Leman together with other little known Switzerland towns. Viewing the cityscape together with the Jet d’Esau and Savoy Mountains in a yacht or a boat in the lake is one of the best scenery you can ever have in Geneva.  Several hotels and structures have come to be associated with it; the Hotel Le Richemond is one of them; which is one of the points for viewing the Alps. It’s a medieval structure erected in the late 19th century. There is the marble fountain holding Beau Rivage which carries the unique tag of being the hotel of choice for the Empress Elizabeth of Austria in those years. Another of the landmark structures is the Noga Hilton Geneve and the Hotel Eden which is notably located in the central of the city.
